From Miyagi to Akita & mini GPS fail

We turned off the Tohoku Expressway at Wakayanagi Kannari, about 430km north of Tokyo. As with most places in that part of the expressway, leaving the expressway become semi-rural, then rural very quickly.  Almost no matter where one is, it is hard to escape the high voltage powerlines that pump electricity, mostly hydro here, from rural areas to the cities.

The GPS said this road... we were sceptical - but opted for
curiousity and "may as well take a look".

It wasn't to be - but you never know unless you look

Beware of falling rocks - construction is taking
place to minimize the risk (AKA concreting
the hillside).
