Snow at the shrine

TL - berries that I don't know the name of
TC - omikuji - fortune slips tied onto branches that are now mostly under snow.
R - a new year fire - people bring back their old shrine mementos / new year greetings decorations etc from the the previous year and burn them.
BC - gohei (paper zigzags)hanging in front of a shrine for a stone
BL - hand washing / purification water (there was ice on it, I decided my hands were pure enough).
C - The tori & shrine.

I have deep snow envy!

My guess is half an hour of snow shovelling would cure it!

No way, man. Excellent exercise and unless you're old or have a bad back, no problem. Suckers pay for sports clubs and trainers and exercise classes and go on diets. I love snow and that's that.

! Fair enough. Actually I don't mind a bit of yuki kaki, but PIL's place has a huge area that needs doing. The car is perhaps 40m maybe more from the road. It's less doing yukikaki and more having to do yukikaki that I find wearing.
Enjoy the winter while it lasts!
