ne! I have only eaten it once, when I was taken out to dinner by former students in China.
When left there in 2000, one of my students brought me a bag of dog meat to bring with me to Aus as a gift for my family....
Fortunately for my family, Australian quarantine is very strict.

I'm not a particularly enthusiastic carnivore, but the only meat I would refuse point-blank, even when starving!, is basashi. I love horses too much.

"Fortunately for my family, Australian quarantine is very strict." LOL!

Ba niku is the only red meat MIL likes. In Akita / Iwate mountainside I think they waited till a horse was almost dead from old age and then shared it among the village. Isabella Bird writes about the cantankerous horses of Tohoku. You can get baniku ramen in Odate, Hiro's home town.
I don't like it, though I haven't had it as ramen. Pickles do me just fine. I never ever seek out food challenges.... but if I get served something as someone's guest I eat anything.
My most traumatising food was blood cubes and duck gizzard soup, made by the mother of one of my students in China. Twelve years later I still feel sick if I think about it.
